The wall design of the Detlev-Rohwedder-Haus on Wilhelmstrasse in Berlin-Mitte was created in 1952. In GDR times it was called the "House of Ministries". From 1935 to 1936 the administration building, which functioned as the Reich Aviation Ministry until 1945, was built according to plans by the architect Ernst Sagebiel. After the end of the war it served as the seat of the Soviet military administration and was finally used in the GDR as the house of the ministries and as the GDR seat of government.
