Media object	50 Wedding Newspaper The Buttons to Observe 50th Anniversary Source: Ithaca Journal Citation details: page 11 Date of entry in original source: April 2, 1975 Text: Mr. and Mrs. William Button Sr. of 499 Hayts Rd. will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday, April 3, in Quartzsite, Ariz. where they are spending the winter, but their family is planning an open house for them when they return in May. The former Florence Lamb of Canton, Pa., married William Button of Lawrence, Pa., in Elmira, April 3, 1925. They were attended by the bride's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ellery Lamb. They moved to Ithaca shortly after their marriage, and Mr. Button worked at Cornell University for a while and then with Allen Wales. In the 30s he ran a laundry and during World War II he worked in Elmira then was employed at Morse Chain, and later at NCR where Mrs. Button was employed for a number of years. He retired from NCR in 1967. They are both members of the NCR Retiree's Club and he is a 32nd drgree Mason. The Buttons have three children; Ralph of 457 Hayts Rd., Cella Simons of Dryden, and William Jr. of Fairport. They also have 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
