Mödlareuth is a small town on the border between Thuringia and Bavaria; two states of Germany. This border became the divide between East Germany (Deutsche Demokratische Republik or DDR) and West Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland). The line followed a creek through town so it became split down the middle between west and east. This is much like Berlin so the town is known as "Little Berlin".
German-German Museum Mödlareuth (or Deutsch-Deutsches Museum Mödlareuth) honors this history.
