Trinity site in White Sands NM was the first atomic explosion. It was a test of the "Fat Man" or Plutonium based bomb. This is a recreation of that site. Beside it is one of three remaining B-29 Silverplate aircraft (The other two are Enola Gay, which is in the Smithsonian near Dulles AP and Bockscar in the Air Force museum). These are modified B-29s for delivery of the atomic bomb. Changes include enlarging the bomb bay, removing defensive guns, removing armor plating, engine performance improvements, and reversible props.
