 The year was 1999.

Prince was promising a party.
Y2K was about to crash every computer on earth creating global chaos.

...and Pashnit was launched. A simple hand-built site. No grand plan. No web skills. A second hand 35mm camera, film prints, a flatbed scanner and a Kawasaki ZX-11D. Basic writing skills, no spell correction. There was one simple motivation.

"I have to tell someone about this road!"

Pashnit.com (pronounced 'passionate') was built to provide you insight on where to ride in California. Started by uploading 30 pages of roads, Pashnit soon grew 10x that number into the largest website in the world dedicated to exploring California Motorcycle Roads. Those initial 30 simple web pages grew to over 600 pages of text, thousands of photos & maps, and comprising 241,138 files. California Motorcycle Roads quickly became a must see for any motorcyclist planning the Next Big Ride.

California Motorcycle Roads

Intelligence on
EVERY Good Road in the state.

For the Love of the Ride.

Dear Pashnite,
The 1999-era California Motorcycle Roads you have used for the last 20 years to plan your rides has been retired.
Two decades later, it's time to rebuild. At present, there are only a few pages of roads completed. There are more coming. A lot of work will go into building a site like this from scratch. It will take time. Thousands of hours, years actually. I think only a crazy person would attempt a project like this. Which is why there is no equal. The original California Motorcycle Roads had 330 webpages of roads, 600 pages of text, thousands of photos, tens of thousands of links and was made up of 241,148 files. I would like to double that. It will take time to rebuild this site so check back from time to time. I appreciate your support over the last 20 years. Hundreds more road pages are coming.

Selling Out! - 21st anniversary Year of Pashnit Tours

With our 2023 tour season complete, what's a motorcycle tour business to do? Plan 2024.
And it's already almost completely sold out.
Wait, what?  We're always planning out a over a year in advance. And after selling out 16 tours in 2023, we're planning to conduct 17 tours in 2024 spanning February through November. It's busy around here, and we're always excited to conduct our alumni favorites like Parkfield, Northern California and Coast Range Tours, but also introduce six brand new motorcycle tours for 2024. We're headed back to Southern California in 2024, the Coast Range of Oregon, and Nevada. Plus riding the three mountain peaks surrounding the San Francisco Bay Area in one weekend for the all-new Three Sisters Tour.

View our 2024 Pashnit Motorcycle Tour season.  Don't miss out. Book early.

The Loneliest Road in America...

When I first told my riding buddies of my plans to ride across Nevada, the response was immediate… Why?
There's nothing out there, it's a desert.
It was LIFE Magazine in July 1986 that first coined the phrase, "The Loneliest Road in America." And it was meant as a dig,  as in negatively. It was literal. Nothing to see out here, just keep moving. Nevada holds one of the most remote deserted stretches of road in the nation. The message in LIFE Magazine was a simple one. There is no logical reason for you to be on this road. Yet, that alone is why you have to come see it for yourself.

Ride the Southern California Mountain Ranges

When we first announced a motorcycle tour through Southern California for the 2016 ride season, we were floored with inquiries from Pashnit Tour Alumni. Nearly 30 riders said they wanted to attend the inaugural SoCal Tour. Bear in mind, we hadn't released any tour details. Nothing. Nada. Where we were headed, roads, cities, sights. Nope. Did any of that even matter? No again. All you need to know is Pashnit Motorcycle Tours is headed for Southern California in 2024.

Ride the Oregon Coast Range

We've been to Oregon many times, but not like this. An all-new tour route zigzagging back and forth across the Oregon Coastal Range is on the 2024 roster. Lots of backroads, lots of twisty, we're excited about this all-new tour, you should be too!

The Perfect Tour

After threatening to retire the Coast Range tour, I was quickly chastised and reprimanded by fellow riders that have been on this tour.
"It's the perfect tour," they exclaimed.

The right balance of roads, magazine cover scenery, Pacific Ocean views, and perfect roads. Add all that together with a room overlooking the ocean and a catered dinner with friends, it likely is the Perfect Tour.
We'll keep the Coast Range Tour in the roster for July 12, 2024.
