Barnes & Noble nook
After much reviewing and comparison, the Barnes & Noble nook ereader device has become my newest electronic toy. With only a week's experience, I must report that I really like the thing.

Bryan Rides the Sierra

Bryan overlooks Yosemite valley Bryan completed his first solo ride over the Sierra Nevada mountains in August when we traveled to the MSTA Mammoth Lakes weekend event. Great riding fun and another always fine mountain camping weekend.

We left Paso early Friday morning to beat the heat of the Central Valley. All went well as we were into the higher elevation of south Yosemite by late morning. The ride through Yosemite was slow with many RVers and tourists maintaining a sight-seer's pace. But, that's to be expected. Our slow pace gave us plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sights.

The weekend in Mammoth Lakes included sporting rides and fantasic scenery that is the eastern slope. It was great to re-connect with the many other members there for the event. Three even managed to include some bicycling during late Saturday afternoon.

Our return was planned to be less tourist and more sport by using route 108 via Sonora Pass, but that was not to be. Sunday, just as we arrived at the turn for Sonora Pass, we were greeted by a group of motorcyclists informing us that a truck had jack-knifed across the road blocking passage. We U-turned and returned to Yosemite.

Traveling westbound through Yosemite, once again, our pace was slowed by the weekend return croud of drivers. At least we fit in some sport riding by exiting in the valley via route 140 and taking in the sweeping curves on Gold Country highway 49.

All-in-all a great ride and weekend!

Deb sees the whalesThis time the annual trek was in the Honda Ridgeline with Debbie. The primary mission was to get Deb up close and personal with the whales. While we were at it, I showed Deb around Baja a bit and she met some of my favorite Baja residents. Check out all the pictures.
